An officers full dress helmet to the 1st West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry (Yorkshire Dragoons), silvered skull, blackstrap ornamented with rose leaves, helmet plate of multi pointed star, upon this a central silver rose with gilt surround being a gilt strap ‘1st West Yorkshire’ and secondary scrolls ‘Yeomanry Cavalry’; silvered rose of the House of York to the centre, rose headed bosses with velvet backed silvered chin chain, fluted 1847 pattern acanthus plume holder supporting a white horsehair plume, quilted silk lining with piece of lace sewn inside (Ladies favour?), together with a transit tin from the retailer Hawkes & Co, Picadilly, London, with brass label engraved 'T. Wilson Esq. Yorkshire Dragoons', the helmet belonged to Mr Thomas Wilson who was part of the Wilsons of Sharrow (Sheffield) snuff company family, his son Charles served with the Lincolnshire Yeomanry and has items also in this auction, helmet comes directly from family, qty.

A George IV 18ct gold black enamel memorial ring, woven hair to a glazed panel within black enamel surround with lettering 'in memory of', to chased bezel and shoulders, engraved inscription to the underside of the head 'Elizabeth Dunning, ob October 31st 1828, Ae 20', London hallmarks, 1826, ring size M½Condition Report: There is some surface wear/nicks and scratches to the mount, but the ring is in generally good condition considering its age. The black enamel to the shoulders is notably worn, but the enamel to the head of ring is in relively good condition with only a fear areas of wear and a small surface reaching fracture. The engravings and hallmarks are clearly visible, The glazed panel does have some surface wear, and the hairwork section beneath it is somewhat discoloured.
