All items have some fine surface scratches and some loss of gilding. The Royal Doulton Desert Star part service comprises one lidded tureen, one tureen without lid, five dinner plates (one with chip to rim), five starter plates (one with staining and crazing), five side plates, and a gravy boat with saucer (saucer repaired). Veneer replacements to lower margin of front, left had side lower edge. This strip missing from right side lower margin. Shrinkage faults and the whole with signs of regular wax polishing but possibly cleaned back slightly 30 years ago or so. All metalware looks to have been replaced, interior lids possibly a fruitwood and possibly replaced. Carcase looks to be oak but hard to see as mostly covered Please see additional images for visual references to condition which form part of this condition report.
