A late 18th Century gilt metal chatelaine for a child, the hook mount with the figure of a shepherd with sheep, dog and birds below a tree. The three short chains with scallop shell form links to a central figural decorated etui (tools lacking), and flanked by a pair of hinged top decorated boxes, one containing the original gilt metal child's thimble, 14.5cms max.

A rare miniature silver chatelaine for a doll, probably Dutch, 18th Century, the mount with engraved and loop pierced hook to five chains linked by a bar to five further chains, two chains securing a pair of scissors, the other three a pen knife with folding blade and corkscrew with mother of pearl scales (one part lacking), a seal engraved with cupid kneeling before a pillar topped with a heart and inscribed (++++ A Doree), and a mace form needle and thimble case complete with original thimble, 11.5cms max., the scissors 3.6cms. A cased French gold thimble and scissor compendium, circa 1890, the rounded corner rectangular leather case with the letter 'L' below a crown, the unmarked gold thimble with plain frieze, the steel bladed scissors with gold arms and loops, the latter with marks, the interior of the case in flush fitted velvet, the lid with gilt inscribed silk 'Pardonneau and Daumensil ….. 18, Rue Royal, Paris', case 10.5 x 6cms. Pardonneau supplied jewellery and other objects to the King of the Belgians, Leopold II, to which the L below the crown on the lid of the box may relate.

The lid lined in purple silk over a flush fitted purple velvet base, the tools in steel with gilded panels comprising a faceted oval section needle case, scissors, thimble, stiletto and bodkin, latter lacking retaining loop and without gilt, case 13cms.
