Four square stoneware tiles depicting a shoal of fish leaping from waves, impressed marks, individual tiles 14 x 14cm, overall composition 28 x 28cm.Condition Report: Three fish tails re-glued and small chip to one corner of one tile, otherwise appears good with no further signs of faults, damage or restorations.
Fifty six Wedgewood majolica storm porch or edging tiles each relief moulded with stylised foliage and geometric roundels. Impressed mark to rear on each tile. Width 15.5cm x 10.5cm x 1.7cm. Also including various unmarked green glaze tiles.Condition Report: One tile is split in two pieces, another has a visible hairline crack running through it. There are slight colour variations as you might expect, some crazing and very small chips around the edges on some of the tiles. A Chinese porcelain tiled screen, circa 19th century with forty seven panels. Height 81 cm and each panel having a width of 17 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The screen frame is all present but generally tired, scratched and scuffed. The hinges are all present although one has lost its centre pin. It is not possible to see the edges of the tiles as they are all within the frame. The second from left tile with two figures is badly cracked, three of the eight bottom tiles are missing, and all others are badly cracked. All other tiles appear to be free from cracks as far as we can tell.

The remaining personal effects of Harwood Elmes Robert Steele (1897-1978): a trench art brass shell tobacco box made from an 18 pound shell 1915 with Canada insigna together with a trench art paper knife, a mahogany folding mirror, a steel shot and a tile from Albert- collected by Flora Steele, (4). He served with the Canadian and British services in both world wars. Captain of Canadian Infantry, 2nd Division; Enlistment: May 5, 1915, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was awarded the M.C. and twice mentioned in despatches. He served with distinction on the battlefields of Flanders, rising to the rank of Major, ultimately becoming Lieut-Colonel.
Hiroshima Bombing - a relic roof tile from the August 6th 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Found on the site of the Sairenji Temple, which was part of the explosion epicenter in Hiroshima and near the Genbaku Dome, now the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. With paperwork. Measures approx 11x2cm.

Old woodworm visible to the underneath but no evidence of recent activity. General wear, scuffs and rubbing to the paintwork throughout. Overall in an attractively aged condition.
