dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Piedmont, Nice straight double-edged blade with central fuller doubling toward the weak, with small signs of use and time, some light stains on one side. On the first half featuring an engraved trophy surmounted by the crowned Savoy shield, inside frames; on the opposite half a similar trophy but surmounted by the motto 'W V.E. RE D'ITALIA.' One-piece brass hilt with loop-guards with circular ends. Ancient leather scabbard with some signs of use and time, brass hilt and cap with button shaped as a Savoy shield. Complete with white-dyed belt frog. Cf. 'Storia dell'Arma Bianca Italiana' C. Calamandrei, p. 339 above. length 69 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, Fine curved, single-and-false-edged blade, with groove, the first part finely engraved with trophies and floral motifs, at the tang deep mark of the Royal Factory of Naples. One-quillon, iron hilt with sheath-guard wings, long cap and large faceted button. Partially engraved with beautiful trophy and floral motifs. Horn grip (small missing parts) with metal wire binding. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings. Rare. length 94.5 cm.
dating: late 18th Century provenance: Kingdom of Naples, Curved, single-edged blade, with fuller at the center and thin groove near the back, rust damage, on one side inscription 'VIVA DIO E IL RE' between decorative engravings, remains of inscriptions also on the other side. One-quillon, iron hilt with faceted, brass grip engraved with a trophy under crown. Leather scabbard with brass mounts. Rare. length 81 cm.
dating: 1840-60 provenance: Papal States, Straight, single-and-false-edged blade, the first part with fuller after of lenticular section, the base marked 'SPQR' between trophies and floral motifs. Interesting brass hilt, the shell-guard with trophy in relief, quillon with she-wolf head, the pommel shaped as a tiara. Grip with checkered, wooden grips. Leather scabbard with brass mounts. length 85 cm.
dating: First Empire provenance: France, Straight, undulated double-edged blade, the first part of hexagonal section, engraved and gilded with pandur, trophies and floral motifs on a blue background up to the weak. Extraordinary, gilded-brass hilt. Iron shell-guard with gilded-brass mounts, featuring a medallion in the center with the order of Legion of Honour on a mother-of-pearl background, framed with laurel branches; the upper part with two lion's heads with a snake in the jaws. The guard with emperor's and warrior's busts among coils, beaded and grooved bands, pommel shaped as lion's head, finely chiselled and decorated with foliage at the base; wooden grip, covered with mother-of-pearl grip scales, a gilded brass lozenge with emperor's bust on a copper background on the right side; with the monogram 'FG' on the opposite side. The central band with a medallion shaped as a turreted lion's head of the city of Lyon among foliage decorations in bass-relief. Complete with leather scabbard with gilded brass mounts (slightly abraded finishing), engraved with floral and geometrical motifs; the button on the chape worked as a trophy with helmet. The sword is attributable to Joseph (Giuseppe) Fesch (Ajaccio 1763 - Rome 1839), uterine brother of Letizia Ramolino, mother of Napoleon. He was a cardinal, diplomat, archbishop and art collector. In 1802 he was appointed archbishop of Lyon and in 1803 French ambassador to Rome. Became grand chaplain of the French Empire and knight of the Grand Cross of the legion d'honneur for the influence of his nephew Napoleon. About 16,000 paintings collected in Rome by the cardinal were transferred to his palace in Ajaccio and his legacy to the city is the original fund from which the Fesch Museum was built. length 95 cm.
dating: early 20th Century provenance: Ethiopia, Curved, grooved blade with fuller, bearing short inscriptions in Amharic, effigy of St. George with the Dragon and the Lion of Judah, around these images various raceme and trophy decorations, still clearly visible. Mark 'G.G.' at the base. Iron hilt with stirrup guard. Sheath-guard wings with monogram in relief and Lion of Judah. Wooden grip in black material (lacquer?) with wire binding and copper wire. Some pitting and signs of use to the iron parts. Typical tribal leather scabbard with lacks, damage, signs of use and time. length 92 cm.
dating: End of 19th beginning of 20th Century provenance: Poland, Made of bronze-colored metal, of slightly convex shape. The central part with an elliptical shield featuring an engraved effigy of the Black Virgin of Częstochowa and with remains of gilding, silvering, and enamel colors, both the Virgin and the Child crowned. The shield located on a trophy of halberds, clubs, flags, cannons and other arms, all worked in relief. With crown at the top. Featuring a cartouche with the prayer 'SUB TUUM PRAESIDIUM CONFUGIMUS' under the shield. ,Drums, cannonballs and relieved shield with eagle on top at the bottom. Above, small floral carvings and open-works. With suspension chain. The rear part with purple velvet lining (partially worn and faded). height 25,5 cm.

Kreigsmarine Officers Lion Head Sword with pipe backed blade 810mm in length with etched decoration of sailing ships, foliage and anchor to one side, the other side having foliage, sailing ship and naval trophy with trident to centre. Blade has makers trade mark of "E & F Horster Solingen". Fine white celluloid grip retaining the original wire binding. Gilt folding guard with central anchor, guard with fine relief, leading to the lion head pommel having set with green and red (port and starboard) jewelled eyes.
