A 19th century Macclesfield Police truncheon, with gilt crowned garter badge, length 46.5cm, with two City of Leicester driver badges for numbers 79 and 173 (3).Additional InformationThe truncheon with wear to the paint and gilding throughout, some loss to the enamel on the driver badges and general patina.
Police interest: William IV Tipstaff. 174mm in length. Carved Crown with "W IV" beneath. Plus a turned wooden truncheon painted black with a Victorian Hertfordshire Constabulary cap badge affixed. Overall length 315mm. No makers marks. And a Georgian Police Constables Painted Truncheon. "GR" along with Crown and owners initials plus No.1. Overall length 380mm. (3)
An early 20th century 46cm policeman's truncheon with gilded spiralling script reading 'Willingdon' No 2' Condition Report: The truncheon appears to be in good overall original condition. The turned wooden handle has good colour and patination. There are some minor scratches and blemishes on the main truncheon with minor peeling and scratching.
