EXTRA LOT: A 1998 Mercedes-Benz 230 SLK Kompressor automatic, registration number R621 CDC, silver. Mercedes R170 was a game changer in the compact sports car field. They popularised the trend for the electric folding steel hard top which in turn spawned similar models from Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot and Nissan. This low mileage (56,000 miles) and ownership (four registered keepers) is finished in traditional Mercedes silver with a contrasting black and silver leather interior which is fitted with all the usual luxury refinements assorted with this model. It passed its most recent MOT without any advisories and will be offered for auction with its dealer supplied owner's pack with handbooks, some previous MOTs and a receipt for service and maintenance (£245). V5C, MOT to February 2018 See illustration
EXTRA LOT: A 1983 Talbot Solara, registration number A215 JDU, blue. As a direct competitor to Ford's Sierra and Vauxhall's Cavalier, the Solara was always going to have a hard time convincing the sales rep and family man to part with their money. They were a successful model for Talbot/Chrysler outselling the Alpine but never found success like their competitors. This Solara is one of only 16 believed to be still on British roads and as such are now a rare car. The Talbot, with a believed 28,000 miles from new, has been in stored since its last MOT expired in April 2017. Our vendor advises that the car is clean and tidy but will require a new exhaust fitting for the next MOT (supplied). This now rare Talbot offers something a little different to the usual Ford and Vauxhall and will certainly be a talking point at any classic car event. V5C, no MOT See illustration

1997 SAAB 900S, registration number R961 RVU, chassis number YS3DD75JXV7014091, engine number TBC, Saab's much loved old-shape 900 was in production for decades and replaced in 1993 with the new model based on the General Motors Vauxhall Cavalier floorpan. It was no GM clone though and had many typical SAAB features such as the floor mounted key that locked the gearbox and the multiple safety features. There were three models, a three door, five door and convertible in base, S or Se trim with different engine packages, 2.0, 2.3, 2.0 turbo and V6, the standard spec was impressive. This Monte Carlo yellow example has a full black leather interior with a five speed gearbox and electric triple skinned roof. It was first registered on the 5th August 1997, with some 108,000 miles on the odometer and a recent roof overhaul it represents good value for summer motoring with the added bonus of being able to cope with Scandinavian winters. Sold with the new V5C and new MOT, it is currently SORNed.
