Scottish. 4th (Donside Highland) VB Gordon Highlanders OR’s glengarry badge circa 1893-1908. Scarce die-stamped white metal example. Within a thistle wreath an oval inscribed, “4th Donside Hlnd Vol Bn Gordon Highrs Watch”; cockerel statant to voided centre. Two loops to reverse. Retains original lustre. VGC HQ Aberdeen. Scottish. 1st Fifeshire Rifle Volunteer Corps Victorian OR’s helmet plate circa 1880-87. A fine and scarce die-stamped white medal example . Crowned star bearing laurel wreath and strap inscribed ‘1st Fifeshire Rifle Volunteer Corps’, Thane of Fife to voided centre. Three loops to reverse (two replacements). VGC 1st Fifeshire RV became a VB of the Black Watch in 1881, redesignated 6th (Perthshire) VB Black Watch in 1887.
Scottish. Black Watch Officer’s plaid brooch. A good silvered example more akin to an senior NCO’s. Plain quoit with engraved decoration mounted with a heavy thistle wreath. To the centre, St.Andrew and the Cross. Reverse with stout pin and impressed ‘34’. Modern paper label to reverse ‘P.A. Chapman TF, 6th Perthshire Bn. 2/Lieut’. Small casting flaw to reverse of St. Andrew otherwise VGC
Scottish. 42nd Black Watch Victorian pre 1881 attributed Officer’s shoulder belt plate. A good scarce example. Seeded gilt rectangular plate with raised burnished edges mounted with a facetted silver Star of the Order of the Thistle; mounted on the Star, within a gilt thistle wreath, a crowned oval bearing the motto of the Order of the Thistle (Lacesset). To the centre, silver numerals ‘42’, below the wreath, a gilt Sphinx. Service wear. Reverse retains original fixings comprising two hooks and two studs. GC Removed from old frame with label stating ‘ 42nd Royal Highlanders 1869 Breast Plate of Egbert W. Cooper’.
54th Foot (W.Norfolk) 1878 Presentation Silver Pocket Watch. The hunter pocket is engraved to the inner dust cover “PRESENTED TO SERGT MAJOR R.G. TYSON BY HIS BROTHER SERJEANTS AS A TOKEN OF RESPECT AND ESTEEM AFTER A LENGTHENED SERVICE OF 25 YEARS IN THE 54TH REGT FORT WILLIAM 1878”. The watch face is signed “James Murray Royal Exchange London & Calcutta” The enamel face with cracks, no key present, watch has not been tested. PLEASE NOTE “Offered as an historical items only; the instruments’ accuracy is neither warranted or implied.” Sergeant Major Robert Tyson enrolled into the 54th as a Boy on the 21st August 1851. He received his final discharge from the 2nd VB South Lancashire Regiment in August 1893, having served 42 years with the Colours.
WW1 Royal Flying Corps Cockpit Watch Circa 1914. A rare early war issue example signed to the silvered face “No. 114/A.F. W. Ehrhardt London Mark IVA 8 Days”. The nickel case with WD Issue stamp and fitted with long winding stem, with no provision for loop. PLEASE NOTE the watch is not in working condition and requires attention.
