Parrot Presses.- Lawrence (John) Sketchbook Drawings, number VI of X "Exemplary" hand-coloured copies, from an edition limited to 170 (35 hand-coloured) and signed by the artist, this copy with an original signed watercolour loosely inserted, hand-coloured illustrations throughout by Lawrence, prospectus loosely inserted, original hand-coloured pictorial boards and slip-case, 8vo, Church Hanborough, Previous Parrot Press, 1991.⁂ The watercolour is of Houghton Hall.
Local interest, A Nikolsky (20th century), view of a paddle steamer, inscribed in pencil to mount "The Princess Elizabeth veteran of Dunkirk evacuation May 1940", and verso inscribed "Princess Elizabeth owned by Mr H E Butler and moored off north Hayling to the east of Hayling bridge", watercolour, signed and dated 1968, 28cm by 38cm (a/f - glass broken)
Attributed to William Turner (1763-1818), 'Porch at Shipton on Cherwell', signed, watercolour, attribution label verso reading 'Exhibited [at] Old Watercolour Society 1808, 16 Old Bond Street, No.79', 34.5 cm x 48 cm, framed and glazed.Footnote: Provenance: Consigned following a house clearance in Berkshire, deceased estate.Condition report: Signed W Turner 1808 on the headstone. There are some overpainted? scuff marks on the roof tiles (see online images). Discolouration visible throughout the sky. The mount is discoloured and spotted with dirt/foxing patches throughout.
