[N.p.:n.d.] Gouache and watercolour (190 x 240mm.) mounted on a larger board, signed and inscribed in pencil, lettered overlay. (Minor soiling.) Unframed.
BINDINGS. The Works of Lord Byron. London: John Murray, 1823. Vols. I-II only (of 4), 8vo (217 x 134mm.) Extra-illustrated with 287 engraved, aquatint, lithographed, etched, hand-coloured and watercolour plates, 8pp. manuscript list of illustrations to both vols. (Some browning, spotting and offsetting.) Near contemporary morocco, by Christie, covers with scrolling tendrils elaborately tooled in gilt, spines gilt in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and third, the others with repeat foliate decoration in gilt, gilt turn-ins of acorn and thistle motifs, moiré silk endpapers, g.e. (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed, upper-hinge of vol. I split and held together with adhesive tape with associated browning). Provenance: Alex Bridge (bookplate and ink inscription dated '13.2.1961' to reverse of front-free endpaper of vol. I). Note: these two volumes contain 'Childe Harold's Pilgrimage' in its entirety, 'The Giaour' and 'The Bride of Abydos' from vol. II are absent (2).

Contemporary calf gilt, the upper covers with centrally placed 'Lansdown, Bath' crest, spines gilt, g.e. with a watercolour fore-edge painting of Worthing seafront to each volume. Provenance: Violet Dudgeon (school prize certificate and binding).
