A Bates, Brown-Westhead & Moore Parian Figure, "Thalia", Circa 1860, holding a Greek comedy mask, impressed "BT, SC.", and title of work, 14.5ins, a Copeland parian figure, "Lurline", circa 1870, and a Royal Dux figure of a water-carrier, raised pad mark and impressed 2245, early 20th century, 18.25ins highThe Bates, Brown-Westhead & Moore Parian figure should correctly say 'Beattie, sc.' rather than 'B T'. The figure's natural right hand has lost two fingers. There is a lightly stained hairline crack running through the underside of the base and vertically down from the edge of the base, close to the tambourine. Copeland figure - 'Lurline' damage and loss to figure's natural right foot. Damage and loss to lyre. Royal Dux figure - some light scattered wear to painted detail and gilding but otherwise appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration

A mid 19thC John Ridgway & Co porcelain armorial soup plate, decorated with a coat of arms and motto "Ora et Labora" within a pink and burgundy gilt heightened border, reverse printed mark and within garter "presented to J. P. Westhead Esq., 26cm wide.NB. J.P. Westhead (1807-1877) was a prominent businessman and Weslyian Methodist. He was Director of the London and North Western Railways, MP for Knaresborough and later York. He was the son of Edward Westhead, who had married Ann Brown, heiress to Lea Castle. By 1862, the Ridgway factory was known as Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. Several unique presentation services were made for him as gifts, bearing his coat of arms or crest. He married Betsy Chappell in 1828. He later inherited Lea Castle from his father. A service was presented to Joshua on the 15th June 1847 at the Albion Hotel, Piccadilly Manchester. by the shareholders of the Manchester and Birmingham Railway Company in recognition of his work as Chairman, before it was absorbed into the London and North Western Railway.
