London Yeomanry Machine Gun Corps WW1 / WW2 Officer Medal Group of Seven This group is attributed to Major Harry Poulter who served with the Sharpshooters 3rd County of London Yeomanry and Machine Gun Corps during the Great War and served with the Royal Engineers during WW2. Comprising: British War Medal, Victory Medal, 2 LIEUT H. POULTER, 1939/45 Star, Africa Star, clasp “1st ARMY”, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal. Mounted as originally worn. The then Second Lieutenant Harry Poulter was commissioned into the 3rd City of London Yeomanry and was then attached to the Machine Gun Corps. He landed in Egypt on the 16th January 1918. In June 1940 he was granted a Regular Army Emergency Commission in the Royal Engineers. He remained in the Army after the war and in 1949 held the rank of Acting Major.

Private William Robbins enlisted into the Grenadier Guards in March 1900 and landed in France with the Regiment on the 12th November 1914. He was discharged in August 1916 with the award of the silver war badge and died as a result of service on the 16th January 1919. He is listed as serving with the 1st Bn.

Captain I J E Daniel a Canadian Roman Catholic priest who volunteered for service during the Great War and originally served with the 102nd Bn CEF. He is noted as writing a number of books. He once again volunteered for service during WW2 and achieved the rank of Squadron Leader with the RAF in 1945.

Appointed a Boy Bugler he saw sea service with Indefatigable and Powerful. During the Great War his ships included Royal Arthur and Highflyer. He was still serving in 1929

VINER OX & BUCKS LI. 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal (PTE OX 7 BUCKS L.I), Memorial Plaque ALFRED LAWRENCE NORMAN VINER. Momrial Scroll, this named to the Manchester Regiment.Group awarded to 2602 PTE A.V. VINER R WAR R.1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, Bronze Memorial Plaque ALBERT VICTOR VINER. Memorial Scroll named to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Both groups remain contemporary mounted into an ebonized glazed frame. The frame with some age wear. Private A.L.N. Viner landed in France with the Ox & Bucks on the 2nd October 1915, he was later attached to the 1/10th Bn Manchester Regiment and was Killed in Action on the 29th March 1918. Private A.V. Viner landed in France on the 22nd March 1915 and was Killed in Action with the 1/7th Bn Royal Warwickshire Regiment on the 23rd March 1916. The next of Kin for both men is confirmed as Alfred and Ellen Elizabeth Viner, of Ragland Cottage, Allesley, Coventry

The photograph is flanked by a Sailor and a Soldier, with Victory above. Retains original polished oak frame, plaster work remains good a few, small hairlines. Good colour Overall size 18 x 22 inches Private William George Moyle a native of Boscombe Hampshire originally enlisted into the Army Service Corps before transferring to the 6th Bn Northamptonshire Regiment. He was Killed in Action on the 30th April 1917.

Royal Navy Rating WW1 Straw hat. HMS Ceres. A rare example of the pattern introduced in the late 19th and worn through the Great War. This hat is complete with an embroidered H.M.S. CEBRES cap tally (faded). The edge of the hat is bound with blue cotton tape; star design to centre of the crown. The interior with sweatband. The hat retains a good shape with some age and service wear. H.M.S. Cebres was a light Cruiser launched in 1917, She was transferred to the 3rd Light Cruiser Squadron in 1919 which was assigned to operate in the Mediterranean. During 1920 was operating in the Black Sea in support of operations against Communist forces.
WW1 Scottish Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Officers Cuff Rank Doublet Tunic Uniform. A very good example worn by a Territorial Captain of the Regiment. To the left breast the medal ribbons of the Military Cross, British War Medal and Victory Medal. To each cuff, rank stars and lace indicating a Captain and retaining collar badges and a single T to the collar. No moth damage.
WW1 Suffolk Regiment Other Ranks 1902 Pattern Tunic. A good and rare example of the Great War pattern tunic, tailored with two pleats to the collar and no facings to the collar and interior pocket flaps. Retaining original insignia of Suffolk shoulder titles, Blue cloth triangles, Lewis Gunner badge, Brass wound stripe, Good Conduct chevron and three blue overseas chevrons. The interior with fragments of paper issue label and the correct combination WD ink stamp. Some service wear, good clean condition.
Kings Shropshire Light Infantry 1880 Pattern Scarlet Uniform. A good example worn by Major Ronald Hope Shears, a pre Great War regular Officer, who served during WW1 with the RFC. The tunic of scarlet cloth with blue facings to the cuff and collar. Tailored with KSLI regimental buttons, bullion collar badges and the the shoulder cords Captain rank stars. The left breast with loops for medals. The interior with cotton lining and tailors label, Flights of Aldershot ink name Lt R H Shears 53rd. Scarlet remains fresh. Clean condition. Accompanied by an associated pair of overalls with scarlet line. Major Ronald Hope Shears was born in 1893 and was commissioned into the 1st Bn KSLI in 1914. In 1916 he was attached to the Royal Flying Corps qualifying as a Pilot and later serving with 31 Squadron. Remaining with the RFC and later RAF he resigned his commission with the RAF and appears to have returned to his Regiment. He served during WW2 with the regiment with the rank of Major
Imperial German WW1 Prussian Ersatz felt Pickelhaube. A good example of the Ersatz issue felt helmet with grey metal spike, base plate and backstrap. To the front Prussian helmet plate. Complete with original leather lining to the interior. Also with ink stamps RJR 217 2K 1915 to inside rear peak. Retains a good shape clean condition.

Wooden ribbed grip with steel rivets and flattened steel pommel. Housed in its original polished brown leather covered wooden scabbard and leather frog. The scabbard dated 1915. A very good clean example.

1956 TWN (Triumph Werke Nurnberg) BDG 250 SL SportReg. no. 547 XVMFrame no. 322697Engine no. 322697In 1886, Siegfried Bettman founded the Triumph bicycle factory in Coventry, ten years later he built another Triumph bicycle factory in his hometown of Nurnberg Germany and by 1903 both factories were producing the same model Triumph motorbikes. It wasn’t until after WW1 that things changed, and the German factory became known as Triumph Werke Nurnberg TWN.These bikes are rarely seen in the UK and this model uses a 250cc two stroke engine that uses two pistons running off a single forked conrod affectionately known as the ‘Twingle’ engine. This very original bike was first registered in Holland on the 10th April 1956, was imported into the UK in September 2015 and then registered with the DVLA.
