Comprising: 1914/15 Star, “2 LIEUT J RIGBY RFA”, British War Medal, Victory Medal, “LIEUT”, Defence Medal, 1935 GVR Jubilee Medal, Territorial Decoration (Privately Engraved) “CAPT J RIGBY 18TH SEPTEMBER 1931”, Special Constabulary Medal, “INSR JACK RIGBY” Group mounted for display.Major Jack Rigby landed in France with the 74th BDE RFA on the 29th August 1915. In the post war years he served with the 7th Bn King’s Liverpool Regiment with was converted to the 40th Bn Tank Regiment, Major Rigby was serving during the transitional period.
WW1 Tank Corps Officer’s Attributed Uniform.This uniform is attributed to Captain Reginald Frank Shaw MBE, who was one of the early members of the Tank Corps and was commissioned in 1917, later serving in South Russia.Comprising: 1917 shoulder rank tunic, complete with Captain rank stars and green silk fragments indicating 3rd Bn to the shoulder straps. Complete with Tank Corps collar badges, buttons and cloth sleeve badge. .... Trousers these tailored with turn ups and the lining with WD 1918 issue stamp. ... Officer’s floppy trench cap complete with badge. ... Silver ID bracelet “2ND LT R.F. SHAW C OF E TANK CORPS”. ... Sam Browne Belt. ... etc. Contained in original trunk this with name and Tank Corps to the lid. The tunic and trousers now with age wear and overall moth holes, the cap with little moth damage but remains good.Captain Reginald Frank Shaw MBE was an early member of the Tank Corps, enlisting in the ranks. A photograph is known of him with his tank at the first tank battle at Amiens on the 15th September 1916, whilst with the 12th Bn. He was commissioned into the Tank Corps on the 28th August 1917 and in March 1919 he was selected to join the South Russia expedition as an instructor, he is listed as Battle Practice and Whippet Tank Instructor. He resigned his commission in March 1920, having been awarded the MBE, Russian Order of St.Vladimir, Order of St. Anne. After service he settled in Staffordshire and during WW2 served with the Stone Fire Service and later was commissioned into the RAFVR.

He was awarded the TEM May 1919. His name appeared as wounded on the 18th October 1917

Vendor states served with the 9th Bn King’s Liverpool Regiment.

Steel cross guard with muzzel 1/4 ring. Two piece wood grip secured by two rivets. Complete with steel black painted scabbard a leather loop and retaining strap with stud. Good clean condition.
WW1 Liverpool Regiment DCM Winner’s Memorial Plaque.Issued to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice of “HARRY R ROBERTSON”. The plaque is mounted into a bronze cross table frame.Attributed to Sergeant Harry Reginald Robertson DCM who was Killed in Action whilst serving with the 5th Bn King’s Liverpool Regiment. The soldiers died roll shows the name as Harry R Robertson. It appears to be a unique name. The DC was awarded for gallantry at Cuinchy on the 23rd March 1915
