Many of the FDCs are the earlier non-GPO versions (eg Cotswold, Stuart…) The FDCs start with 1953 and there is some duplication with different designs and cancels. WW2 Royal Navy Officers Working Dress Blouse & Trousers 1944, Original wartime dated RN officers working dress uniform set, both in a matching blue serge material. Blouse has lost two of its original brass buttons, one on the front, and the other being the button which secures the waist belt, these can be sourced easily enough and re applied. Two chest pockets and open collar. Some mothing to the serge. Label to the rear of the waist band shows it to be in size 9 and dated 1944. The trousers are in good condition, with only minimal storage wear with the interior being very clean, having looked to never been issued. The label attached to the rear tell us it’s a size 10 and dated 1944. Both items are manufactured by ‘H Lotery & Co’ making this a nice, matched set.
WW2 British Army 1939 Pattern Greatcoat, Other Ranks, BEF, Original early BEF period greatcoat of the 1939 pattern, distinctive with its non-pleated back. This example has been utilized by an infantry officer, having had metal rank pips of 2nd Lieutenant added to the epaulettes and leather football type buttons. The red arm of service stipe, has been applied to each arm, denoting it to have been used by an infantryman. There is a period repair and some mild mothing to an area of the lower skirt.

Soviet Russian SSh-40 Steel Combat Helmet, an interesting example of a standard Soviet Russian WW2 pattern (SSh-40) steel helmet which retains much of its original green paint finish to the shell. Original three black leather pad liner system to the interior and remains of a ink stamping to the interior. The shell has received a number of bullet and shrapnel impact holes and dents, these we believe possibly done as a test and not combat damage. An interesting display piece.
WW2 German Armed Forces Parade Bayonet, with pommel top missing release button, two piece chequered grips. Housed in its blackened scabbard with frog stud. Attached to the scabbard is a pressed leather bayonet frog. Polished blade with fuller to the back edge, makers trademark of E Pack & Sohne, Solingen. Blade 24 ½ cms, overall 39 cms.
