Sergeant Bentley dropped into Oosterbeek 18th Sept 1944 with the Mortar Platoon 10th Parachute Batt. 20th Sept, held the top floor of a house on the North East perimeter. The house was hit and he fell from the top floor to the basement. He then carried on operating under heavy fire.
