A VERY RARE CARVED JADE DRAGON-FORM PENDANT 戰國 白玉龍紋珮 WARRING STATES PERIOD, 300-221 BC The pendant is carved in the form of a single-horned dragon in profile, with a gracefully arched S-shaped body. The Spink's receipt describes the piece as "Translucent pale celadon pale jade carving of the Washing of the Sacred Elephant of the famous sage known as the Great Master Samantabhadra, Ch'ien-Lung 1736-1795AD" The standing boy with a crack on his left ankle and in the area of his right knee, the figure has never been detached and these may be natural inclusions of the stone. Another such inclusion appears at the rear right quadrant of the animal and into the mounted figure.
